Meeting October 15, 2017
Stonecrest Flyers had a meeting on October 15, 2017 at 2:06 PM and President Joe Meade called meeting to order.  There were nine members present and all board members were there.
The first thing on the agenda was the Octoberfest flyin and that was scheduled for October 28, 2017.  There will be no charge at this flyin.  All members, their families and the public are invited to attend.  Food and drinks will be provided by voluntary donations by the members.  Feel free to bring something to contribute if you wish.
The second thing on the agenda was the purchase of supplies for the club such as hand sanitizer, wasp spray and just general cleaning supplies.  The treasurer Herb Winstead will purchase these items from club funds.
The motion was made by Rob Campbell to build a fire pit.  The motion was seconded by Densil Baker and approved by the members.  Rob Campbell will head up the committee to build the fire pit.  A motion was made by Jarred Hurley to put locks on the port-a-potties and seconded by Rob Campbell.  Membership approved the motion and locks will be installed.
Since our sign has been vandalized a motion was made to order a new sign to replace the old one.  Four signs have been ordered to replace the sign in case it is damaged again.
Joe Meade contacted AirEvac and was given a tour of their new facility and discussed flying with them.  They have no problem with our field and our flying but we need to be courteous and when they need to fly we will either land or fly low until them are gone.  The spotter can listen for their helicopters to fire up.
Herb Winstead presented the treasurer’s report.  No one had any receipts to turn in and the report was accepted as read.
A few discussions were made about old business that had already been approved; these include the weed eater and the fence for porta potties.
The members present discussed putting the gate chain up while pilots are flying because there have been instances where people have driven out on the flying field by mistake.  We do not want to lock people out however so we are asking for feedback from all
Members on this so we can decide what to do.

Jarred Hurley discussed getting the members together for a low cost plane building session this winter since plane building has become an obsolete practice. These planes can be used for a demolition at the spring flyin.  Anyone interested contact Jarred Hurley.

With no further business to discuss the meeting was dismissed by Joe Meade at 2:40 pm.
